Privacy Policy
Effective June 10, 2026
1. Who we are
This policy describes how Miriel, Inc. (“Miriel”, “we”) handles personal information in connection with PerceptDB (perceptdb.com). It covers our customers’ accounts and the data processed by the Service. For data your organization connects to PerceptDB (e.g., camera feeds), your organization is the data controller and this policy applies to our role as a processor on its behalf.
2. Information we collect
Account data — name, email, password hash, organization membership and role. Customer Data — content you connect or upload (video/audio segments, documents, events) and the artifacts derived from it (embeddings, transcripts, detections, alerts). Usage & device data — query logs, metering events (perception/retrieval credits), audit-log entries (action, actor, timestamp, IP address), and standard server logs.
3. How we use information
To provide and secure the Service (authentication, tenant isolation, abuse prevention); to operate its features (indexing, search, alerts); to meter usage and bill; to communicate service notices (verification, invitations, password resets); and to improve reliability. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Customer Data to train models for other customers.
4. Sharing
We share data only with subprocessors needed to run the Service — currently Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, email delivery) and Google (Gemini API, used solely for natural-language-to-SQL and answer synthesis over your own evidence) — and where required by law. Subprocessors are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
5. Retention
Account data persists for the life of the account. Stream media follows the retention windows your organization configures per stream; aged media is tiered or rolled off per those settings. Audit and billing records are retained after account deletion as required for compliance. Deleting your account de-identifies your user record and removes your organizations’ content as described in the Terms.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (S3/RDS encryption; vector indexes are additionally encrypted per project key). Access is role-scoped (owner/admin/member/viewer) and recorded in an append-only audit log. No method of storage is 100% secure; report suspected vulnerabilities to security@miriel.ai.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict processing. You can change your name, email, and password and delete your account in Settings; for anything else contact privacy@miriel.ai. If you appear in a customer’s connected data (e.g., on camera), contact that organization — we will assist them in honoring applicable requests.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to operate the Service: session authentication and CSRF protection. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes & contact
We will announce material changes to this policy via the Service or email. Questions: privacy@miriel.ai. Miriel, Inc., United States.
